Terms of service

These terms govern your use of Calculate7. By using any page or calculator on calculate7.com, you agree to these terms. They are deliberately short — most of what you need to know is summarized in the disclaimer and privacy policy linked below.

Acceptance of these terms

By accessing or using Calculate7 (calculate7.com and its language subdirectories such as /es/, /de/, /fr/, /pt/), you agree to be bound by these terms of service. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

These terms apply alongside our privacy policy and our disclaimer. The disclaimer explains the important limits of calculator accuracy and the reasons our results are never a substitute for professional advice.

Use of the calculators

You may use the calculators on Calculate7 for any lawful personal or commercial purpose — there is no fee, no signup, and no usage limit for normal browsing. You may take the answer a calculator gives you and use it however you like.

You agree not to:

  • Scrape the site at a rate that disrupts service for others (heavy automated requests are blocked at the network level).
  • Attempt to break into the site, probe for vulnerabilities, or interfere with how it serves other visitors.
  • Republish the site's explanatory text, formulas, or examples as your own work. The calculators' explanatory content is copyrighted; the numerical answers they produce are not.
  • Use the site to harass others, host malicious content, or violate any law applicable to you.

Intellectual property

The Calculate7 name, site design, calculator code, explanatory text, illustrations, and curated reference tables are owned by Calculate7 and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, redistribute, or create derivative works of this content without written permission, except as allowed by fair use / fair dealing under applicable law (for example, brief quotation with attribution for educational or journalistic purposes).

The numerical answer a calculator produces from your inputs is yours to use however you like — that's the entire point. We don't claim any rights in the output values.

Some of the underlying data the calculators use (atomic weights, physical constants, biological reference ranges, etc.) is in the public domain or published by standards bodies. We credit those sources on each calculator's page.

No warranty — provided "as is"

Calculate7 is provided "as is" and "as available." We work hard to make the calculators accurate and the explanations clear, but we make no warranties or representations of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • That a calculator's result is fit for your particular purpose
  • That the site will always be available, error-free, or virus-free
  • That information on the site is current at all times
  • That calculator inputs and outputs are appropriate for legal or regulatory use in your jurisdiction

You use the site and its calculators at your own risk. If you find an error, please tell us — we publish corrections promptly.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Calculate7 and its operators are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the site or its calculators, including but not limited to financial losses, medical decisions, structural or engineering decisions, project cost overruns, or any other reliance on calculator output.

This is especially important for:

  • Health calculators (BMI, ideal weight, due-date estimators) — these are educational tools, not medical advice. See your healthcare provider for medical decisions.
  • Financial calculators (compound interest, etc.) — these illustrate math, not investment advice. Talk to a licensed financial advisor before making decisions about your money.
  • Construction calculators (height/length conversions, material estimates) — these are reference tools, not engineering specifications. Get professional sign-off and follow your local building code for any actual project.

Some jurisdictions don't allow the full exclusion of certain warranties or liabilities. Where those laws apply, our liability is limited to the smallest extent permitted by law.

Third-party services and links

Calculate7 uses Google AdSense to serve ads and Google Analytics to count visits. The data those services collect is described in our privacy policy. Your interactions with those ads and any sites they link to are governed by the privacy policies and terms of the relevant third party — not by us.

The site may link to external resources (NIST, IUPAC, government health sites, standards documents, etc.) as references. Those links are provided for convenience. We don't control external sites and aren't responsible for their content or availability.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms. If you don't agree with a change, please stop using the site.

For questions about these terms, write to contact@calculate7.com.
