Privacy policy

Calculate7 is operated by the Calculate7 team. For all privacy matters, the data controller is reachable at privacy@calculate7.com. If you are in the EU/EEA or UK and want to escalate, you also have the right to file a complaint with your national data protection authority.

We collect two categories of data, both very limited:

1. Automatically collected technical information. Like nearly every website, our hosting servers automatically receive your IP address, browser user-agent string, the page you requested, and the page you came from (the HTTP "referer"). Standard server logs retain these for a short period for security and abuse-prevention purposes, then are deleted or anonymized.
2. Analytics and advertising data. Through third-party services described below (Google Analytics, Google AdSense), additional information is collected about how the site is used — which pages are viewed, how long visitors stay, what device and browser they use, and (for ads) signals that help select more relevant advertisements. This data is governed by those third parties' privacy policies, linked below.

We do not collect:

• Account information — there are no user accounts on Calculate7
• Email addresses — unless you write to us, and then only what you put in the email
• Payment information — every calculator is free
• The values you type into calculators — these are processed locally in your browser and never sent to our servers

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Calculate7 uses cookies for the following purposes:

• Strictly necessary cookies — none. The site does not use cookies that are essential to its core function. You can browse and use every calculator with all cookies disabled.
• Analytics cookies (set by Google Analytics) — used to count visits, measure page popularity, and identify performance problems. These cookies do not identify you personally; they let us see aggregate patterns.
• Advertising cookies (set by Google AdSense and its partners) — used to show ads, prevent the same ad from being shown too many times, and (where you've given consent) to show ads more relevant to your interests based on your browsing history. See the Google AdSense section below for details and opt-out instructions.

You can clear or block cookies through your browser's settings at any time. Blocking cookies will not prevent any Calculate7 calculator from working.

Calculate7 uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. AdSense is a third-party ad-serving service operated by Google LLC. As an AdSense publisher:

• Google uses cookies and similar technologies to serve ads on this site.
• Google may use a cookie called the DoubleClick DART cookie to serve ads based on your visit to our site and other sites on the internet.
• Third-party vendors and ad networks that partner with Google may also use cookies to serve ads.
• If you are in a region with applicable privacy laws (EU, EEA, UK, Switzerland, California, Brazil, and others), Google asks for your consent for personalized advertising via a consent prompt the first time you visit. You can change your choice at any time through the prompt or your Google Ad Settings.

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how the site is used. GA4 sets cookies that record which pages you view, how long you stay, your approximate geographic location (derived from IP address, anonymized), and basic device/browser information. We have configured GA4 with IP anonymization enabled.

Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data:

• If you are in the EU/EEA or UK (GDPR/UK GDPR): You have the right to access, correct, delete, and port your data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to file a complaint with your national supervisory authority.
• If you are in California (CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to know what personal information is collected, to delete personal information, to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (which in the AdSense context includes personalized advertising), and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
• If you are in Brazil (LGPD): You have rights of confirmation, access, correction, anonymization, deletion, portability, and information about data sharing.

To exercise any of these rights, write to privacy@calculate7.com. Because we hold very little data directly, most data-access and deletion requests will be passed through to Google, who manages the analytics and advertising data on our behalf. You can also exercise some of these rights directly through Google's own data-management tools.

Calculate7 is not directed at children under 13 (under 16 in some EU member states) and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Some of our calculators (BMI for kids, growth-related tools) include information about children, but the calculator inputs are still processed locally and never sent to us. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information through some other channel, please contact us at privacy@calculate7.com and we will delete it.

Calculate7's third-party providers (Google) are headquartered in the United States, which means that data collected by these services may be transferred to and processed in the US. These transfers are conducted under the appropriate legal frameworks (Standard Contractual Clauses, EU–US Data Privacy Framework, and equivalent mechanisms) as published by those providers.

Server access logs are retained for up to 30 days, after which they are deleted or anonymized. Google Analytics data is retained for the duration configured in our GA4 property (currently 14 months) and then automatically deleted. Google AdSense cookies have their own expiration times set by Google, typically 30 days to 13 months depending on the cookie type.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, third-party services, or applicable law. When we do, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be noted on the homepage or via a banner for a reasonable period after they take effect.
